The Traffic Engineering Section has completed speed
surveys on the following streets: Marshall Boulevard, between
Harrison Street and Arden Avenue; "E" Street between Hunts Lane
and the Crosstown Freeway; and Del Rosa Avenue, between Del Rosa
Drive and Thirty-Ninth Street.
Marshall Boulevard, between Harrison Street and Arden
Avenue, is currently unposted. The survey was conducted in res-
ponse to a resident's request to establish a speed zone.
Marshall Boulevard varies between 40 and 47 miles per hour.
Based on the data accumulated by the study, we recommend that
this area of Marshall Boulevard be posted with a 40 mile per hour
speed limit.
The studies on Del Rosa Avenue and "E" Street were con-
ducted in order to satisfy the State mandated five-year review
period. This review is required to legalize radar enforcement.
Following is a table of the existing speed zones, proposed

*This portion of Del Rosa Avenue no longer requires speed zoning
as it is a short residential segment. Since the time that it
was originally speed zoned, south bond traffic at 39th Street
has been stopped not allowing motorists to develop any speed.
Concurrence from the County of San Bernardino has been attained
where segments of the streets are under their jurisdiction.
All of the recommended changes have been approved by the Traffic
Safety Committee.
Staff recommends that the Ordinance be approved.

San Bernardino
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"10.52.020 THIRTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR
In accordance with and pursuant to the authority of
Sections 22357, 22358, and 22360, of the California Vehicle Code,
the Mayor and COllUllon Council do hereby determine and declare,
upon the basis of an Engineering and Traffic Investigation, that
the Prima Facie Speed Limit of thirty-five miles per hour shall
be established on the following streets or portions thereof in
the City:
ARROWHEAD AVENUE: Between Seventh Street and Highland
Avenue.
'D' STREET: Between Sixth Street and Twenty-Eighth
Street.
EUCALYPTUS AVENUE: Between Mill Street and Rialto
Avenue.
FORTIETH STREET: Between Electric Avenue and Waterman
Avenue.
FORTY-EIGHTH STREET: Between Kendall Drive and Electric
Avenue.
'G' STREET: Between Sixth Street and Marshall Boulevard.
