screens and sound systems.

I served on the organizing Advisory Board of Campus Crusade for Christ for Alabama and
the Southeast. We organized in 1963. We had our first staff working with students at
the University of Alabama in 1964. Four years of volunteer work and teaching gave my
wife, Tommie, and me new priorities in our lives. We came on staff full time and went
through staff training at Arrowhead Springs, our International Headquarters and Training
Center, in 1968.
Campus Crusade for Christ is an interdenominational evangelical Christian organization
with 30,000 staff, associate staff and volunteers, serving in 138 countries around the
world. It has been my privilege to take part in our work in many parts of the world as
well as in our home town, San Bernardino.
My wife, Tommie, enjoys her similar work for the ministry as well as community relations
with me.
Communication, teaching and training are the main thrust of Crusade and we use
electronic media in all forms.
I know the importance of television, both good and bad, and I want San Bernardino to
have the best in cable, public access, government information, educational and network
television.
