STAFF REPORT
The Water Department has completed a Budget, Revenue Program, and
Financing Plan to determine the sewer service and capacity charges
necessary to generate revenue to cover the incurred and projected
costs. The proposed rate structure and monthly rates are
identified in the Sewer Rate Study, dated June 1991.
The Board of Water Commissioners on May 21, 1991 conducted an
extensive workshop on the proposed increases to the sewer service
charges as well as the proposed increase to the sewer capacity
fees. The Board unanimously voted to authorize the General Manager
to request that the Mayor and Common Council establish a date for
a pUblic hearing to increase the sewer service charges and the
sewer capacity fees. These fees and charges have not been
increased since 1984.
It is recommended that the Council set Monday, August 5, 1991 at
10:00 a.m. as the time to receive comments from the pUblic and
consider adoption of the sewer service and capacity charges.
