Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. 5 to the contract with Mentone Turf Supply,
for maintenance of landscaping in Assessment Districts No. 956 &
968, in accordance with Plans No. 6192-A and 6056-A, be approvedi
to extend the contract for a p~riod of one year, from 7-1-91 to 6-
30-92, for no change in the contract unit prices for Assessment
District No. 968, and delete the portion of Assessment District No.
956 west of the Gage Canal and reduce the annual bas' ntract
price by $41,091.45, from $67,779.45 to 26,688.00.

STAFF REPORT
The special provisions for maintenance of landscaping in
Assessment Districts No. 956 & 968 provide that the contract may
be extended for two (2) one-year periods, by mutual consent of
the Contractor and City. Any adjustments in the contract prices
are to be negotiated at the time of each such renewal.
The..)Contractor is willing for the contract to be
extended. ~Change Order No. 5 has, therefore, been prepared to
extend the term of the contract for a one year period, from 7-1-
91 to 6-30-92, at no change in the contract unit price for_
Assessment District No. 968.~
'!I Responsibility for maintenance of the portion of tl;1e
landscaping, in Assessment District No. 956, west of Gage Canal,
will be assumed by the Tri-City Corporate Comp1ex.-;.r The scope of
landscape maintenance will be amended by Change Order No.5 to
delete the portion west of Gage Canal (about 60% of the area in
Assessment District No. 956) and reduce the annual basic
contract price by an amount of $41,091. 45, from $67,779.45 to
$26,688.00.
Below is an estimate of the total cost for providing
these landscaping maintenance services, from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92.

We recommend that Contract Change Order No. 5 be
approved.
