The proposed purchase is for annual weed abatement to be utilized in
daily operations by the Public Services Department.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were publicly
opened and decl ared on April 16, 1991. The foll o\'li n9 is a sUll1"oary of

Twelve (12) vendors of this conrnodity were solicited. Six (6) vendors
responded, two with no bid and four with valid bids. The abatement bids
are bid per a classification requirement (5 classes), 7 separate tasks
with a dollar rate for each (see attached). The service is for one year
(fiscal year 1991/92, July 1, 1990 through June 30, 1992).
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Director of Public
Services who concurs that the bid of Rick's Tractor meets specifications
and requirements. It is therefore reconrnended that the bid be accepted
for contract. The equipment funding is in the 91/92 budget.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE ORDER TO
RICK'S TRACTOR AND DISCING SERVICE FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF WEED
ABATEMENT SERVICES, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-92-01.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Rick's Tractor and Discin9 Service is the lowest and
best responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of weed abatement
services in accordance with Bid Specification F-92-01 for the total amount of
$150,000.00; pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby
authorized and directed to issue a purchase order for said weed abatement
services to said lowest and best responsible bidder; such award shall only be
effective upon the issuance of a Purchase Order by the Purchasing Agent; and
all other quotations therefor are hereby rejected.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by
