STEINHAUS Agency Administrator Subject: CITY HALL ANNEX RENOVATION COSTS Date: May 13, 1991 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Synopsis of Previous Commission/Council/Committee Action: On December 7, 1989, the Community Development Commission approved the purchase of the Thrifty Building and approved a budget in the amount of $300,000 for renovation expenditures. An additional $300,000 for renovation costs in the form of a loan from the agency to the city was discussed, but never acted upon. On May 6, 1991, the Community Development Commission approved funds in the amount of $406,734 to complete the renovation of the City Hall Annex Building and to finance the purchase and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recommended Motion: (Community Development Commission) THAT THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AUTHORIZE THE AGENCY ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH LONNIE TYLER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF CABINETS IN THE CITY HALL ANNEX BUILDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $32,930. ~) C~~ TIMOTHY C. An additional $300,000 was to be loaned to the city from the agency for renovation expenditures, but the loan was never approved or executed when it was determined that the agency was to move into the annex instead of city departments. On May 6, 1991, the Community Development Commission approved additional funds in the amount of $406,734 to complete the renovation of the City Hall Annex Building, with an estimated budget of $50,000 for cabinets. The budget approved on May 6, 1991 is as follows: 1. Roofing: $ 27,675 2. Pedestrian Bridge 150,306 3. Moving - computer 2.000 Total $706a734 A total of $50,000 was budget for cabinets and two bids were received for the cabinet work as follows: Lonnie P. Tyler Co.
