Today you called and asked for information concerni~g the National Orange
Show as it relates to police service. lie quickly put together some
information for you which shows the National Orange Show celebration costs
broken down for 1989 through 1991 projected. lie also located the report
calls for service at the National Orange Show from January 11 1990, through
AprilS, 1991. During that period, there were a total of 13~ reports taken
which equates to approximately 69.5 police hours. This pOints to a very
small amount of time that police service is given to the Orange Show above
and beyond our commitment during the National Orange Show celebration. I
was unable to give you our total calls for service. This requires an
in-depth data processing task which would take several days. I believe the
attached memorandums will give you a good idea on what our services are.

Department completed 139 police reports occurring at the National Orange
Show, 689 S. "E" Street. The average poHoe report requires approximately

The National Orange Show has been contributing to the cost of pollee service
during the Orange Show Celebration for a number of years.
Prior to 1989 the Orange Show paid for the resezve officers only. Starting in
1989 the Orange Show contributed $15,000 towards the cost of the sworn
nffi""ts plus the cost of the re8eIVes leaving a net oost to the City of
$21,025.49.
In 1990 the National Orange Show co"ldbuted $18,000 to the cost of sworn
of'fi""ts plus the cost of the resezves leaving a net oost to the City of
$15.393.

In 1991 the National Orange Show has agreed to pay 60% of the sworn officers
cost plus the cost of the resezve officers. 'DE projected contribution to the
cost of swam officers is $21,200 leaving It net cost to the City of $14,116.
