Synopsis of Previous Council action:
NONE
, Recommended motion:
1. That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City Clerk are
authorized to proceed with the proposed vacation of a portion of a
North/South alley, East of Sierra Way, between 42nd street and 44th Street,
in San Bernardino.
2. That Plan No. 8469, showing the proposed vacation of a portion of a
of a North/South alley, East of Sierra Wa tween 42nd Str
Street, is approved.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received frOll Don Popovich. owner of Arrowhead Home. Inc.. on April
17. 1991. to vacate the portion of the North/South alley that bisects his two
properties. This vacation is requested so that this portion of the alley could
be fenced to alleviate safety concerns of the convalescent home's ubulatory
residents. The petitioner has deposited the required $375.00. which represents
one-half of the total fee of $750.00. The remaining $375.00 will be due after
the investigative proceedings.
In September of 1984 Mr. Popovich requested the alley be vacated for some of the
sue reasons - with the addition of many problells at that time caused by
clientele of "Rwllours. Bar - which no longer exists at that location. On May
21st an established nail and hair salon will move into the building at 4399
Sierra Way. Mrs. Ellie MontgOllery, owner of the building at that location plans
to fence the rear of her parking lot to stop apartment dwellers from accessing
Sierra Way through her parking lot.
