An item will be on the Supplemental Agenda of 8-17-87, to auth-
orize proceedings to be commenced to vacate this alley. This
item was placed on the Agenda at the request of Councilwoman
Pope-Ludlam in an effort to alleviate the crime problem in the
area. A map of the alley is attached for reference.
At least two of the businesses along Mt. Vernon Avenue have rear
accesses to this alley. Also, the house in the rear, of the lot
fronting on 16th Street, takes access from the alley. It is
likely that some protests may be received in response to the
notices sent to abutting property owners.
Since this will be a City initiated action, the normal $400 fee':"............
will not apply.
If the Mayor and Common Council concur, the following motion
should be adopted:
