'" Council Notes: ".DIU Agenda Item No. :?: 1 Clft OF SAN BERNARDQO - REQUE9r FOR COUNCIL ACiloN 75.0264 STAFF REPORT During construction of the street lighting improvements, underground utilities and abandoned railroad tracks were encountered, which had not been located during the utility investigation and, therefore, not shown on the plans. In order to avoid these utilities, modified foundations were hand- dug, additional jacking pits were excavated and additional sidewalk and roadway was removed and replaced. Daily work reports were prepared and all extra work was monitored by our Construction Inspector. The total increase in the contract price, to be authorized by Change Order No. One is $5,528.33, which represents the actual costs incurred on a time and materials basis. The total estimated project cost, based upon the actual low bid price, included an amount of $7,200 for contingen- cies, which can be used to finance the additional cost authorized by this change order. All work under this contract was satisfactorily completed as of 6-25-87. The final contract price is $135,328.33, due to the increase author- ized by Contract Change Order No. One. We recommend that the work be approved and accepted, and that final payment be authorized. Also, that Change Order No. One be approved. 8-05-87 p~t: Plan No. Street Lighting Improvemew-\ Sierra Way to Waterman, T~ and Fifth Streets -- 7166 o Date: 8-05-87 File No.7 .3715 o ENGINEERING DIVISION i.".
