COUNCIL ACTION ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION AND STAFF REPORT AGREEMENT FOR OPERATION OF A DROP-IN CENTER BY CASA RAMONA, INC. FOR FY 1991-92. This Department contracts with Casa Ramona, Inc. for operation of Ramona Drop-In Center located at 1524 West 7th Street. Casa Ramona, Inc. has operated the Drop-In Center for the City since September 1, 1983. The Center offers information and referral services on a variety of citizen needs as well as assistance in completinq forms and makinq applications for various services and social proqrams. The Center is also a site for the city sponsored Summer Lunch Proqram which feeds free lunches to children. Other services are provided to the poor, elderly, hOllleless, unemployed, non- Enqlish speakinq, new arrivals, and crime victims. city residents are aided directly and non-city residents are referred to appropriate sources. The Ramona Drop-In Center contract proposal is the same as the 1990-91 contract with no increase in compensation. Based on previous experience and the service record at the Center, it is recommended tl)at the Ramona Drop-In Center contract be approved for 1991-92 at the requested $50,783 level. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND CASA RAMONA, INC. RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF A DROP-IN CENTER LOCATED AT 1524 WEST 7TH STREET, SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR PERIOD. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said city Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Casa Ramona, Inc. relating to the operation of a drop-in center located at 1524 West 7th Street, San Bernardino, California, to extend the term of the Agreement for an additional one year period. A copy of said Amendment No. 1 is attached hereto, marked Exhibit 1, and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 2. The agreement authorized by this resolution shall not take effect until fully signed and executed by both parties. Neither party shall be obligated hereunder unless and until the agreement is fully executed and no oral agreement relating thereto shall be implied or authorized. SECTION 3. The authorization granted hereunder shall expire and be void and of no further effect if the agreement is not executed by both parties and returned to the office of the City Clerk within 60 days following effective date of the resolution. That certain Agreement between the parties dated September 1, 1990 is hereby amended as follows: A. Paragraph 2 (c) relating to the term of the Agreement is amended to extend the term of this contract for an additional one year period as follows: ..."commencing July 1, 1991 and expiring June 30, 1992"... 2. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement described shall remain in full force and effect.
