Attached is the list of currently illpOunded carts. The stores' management believe they were not properly notified of the plan to iIIpOund abandoned carts. In order to IIIIlintain goodwill in the ....--mlllity, this Department is reo ........'lQing a one-time free release of carts. All iDplcted stores would be notified and would have the opportunity to collect all carts held at the Yard, free of charge, by 3:00 on 5/21/91. Any carts uncollected by this deadline, and any carts iDp)unded subeequent to 5/21/91, would be released only upon payment of the $15 per-cart fee established by Resolution 90-180. Attached is the letter which will be sent to all affected stores. The Departaent of Public Services has the responsibility for r.-oval of abandoned shopping carts in parJarays and public right of ways.
