Recommended motion:
That the Department of Planning & Building Services be directed
to initiate a General Plan Amendment for the northwest corner of
Belleview Street and "K" Street and that the sum of $25 be
appropriated from Account No. 772-171-24515 to cover the cost of
a Notice of Deminimis Impact which is required by the County of
San Bernardino.

STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT: Initiation of a general plan amendment for
the northwest corner of Belleview Street
and "K" Street.
Mayor and Common Council meeting of
May 6, 1991.
During the land use hearings for adoption of the General Plan, the
northwest corner of Belleview and "K" Street and the surrounding
area was designated RS, Residential Suburban. The RS designation
permits single family dwelling units at a density of 4.5 units per
acre. The site contains a small "mom and pop store" which has been
in operation for a number of years.
FUNDING REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to staff time to process a General Plan Amendment, a
$25.00 fee wil be required to file a Notice of DeMinimis Impact
(no impact to wildlife or wildlife habitat as defined by the State
Department of Fish and Game).
Note: This is a new County fee authorized by State Legislation.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that the Mayor and Common Council initiate a General
Plan Amendment for the northwest. corner of Belleview Street and
"K" Street, to consider a commercial designation.
