Inspections have revealed many housing units in substandard condition, resulting in the displacement of the unit's occupants. In many cases, these individuals and families are low and moderate income housing residents. The motion before you would appropriate $25,000 from the Department's Twenty Percent Set-Aside Housing Fund for relocating eligible, affected individuals to alternative housing. Unlike the blighted units which are being closed, the replacement housing will provide displaced persons with decent, safe and sanitary living quarters. Staff recommends adoption of the form motion.
