On July 16, 1990 the Department acquired the 1.28 acre site at the
Northwest comer of 5th and "D" Streets for $740,000. Improvements
consist of paved parking and a building of approximately 5,000 square feet.
The Police Department has looked at the site and expressed an interest in
using the facility for certain operations now located in the 4th Street
building .
The Director of Facilities Management, estimates the cost of renovation to
meet the Police Departments needs to be $42,805 as detailed below:

There are sufficient tax allocation bond proceeds available, thereby it is
recommended that the Commission authorize the expenditure of funds to
renovate the building at the comer of 5th and "D" Streets.
