At its last meeting (January 9, 1991), the Mt. Vernon Corridor Project Area Committee
accepted Mr. Byar's resignation with regret. To become effective the Mayor and Common
Council must ratify the action.
Mr. Byars actively worked to support the formation of the project area and served as
Vice Chairman of the committee. It is appropriate that the Mayor and Common Council
accept Mr. Byars resignation with regret and express gratitude for his unselfish
commitment to the betterment of the Mt. Vernon Area. Staff will prepare a Certificate
of Commendation for si&JUlture by the Mayor and Common Councilmembers.
Staff recommends adoption of the form motion.

It is with regret I must advise you that I am resigning my position
as vice chariman of the PAC Committee.
I have been involved with many county and city commissions and
recently have had to actively work inthe campaigns for the
election of Congressman Brown, Senator Ayala and Assemblyman Eaves.
Due to all of this I have neglected my family life and the work
has caused me fatigue. I am going to have to selectively focus my
time and energy now.
If Dianne Feinstein wins election as Calif. governor next month,
I may have a pesition with her new government, thus due to the
above reasons and possible future requirements, I am resigning
thi s office.
It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve with you and this
committee and you have my best wishes for future successes.
