RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND STAFF REPORT SUPPORTING IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SANTA ANA RIVER CORRIDOR TRAIL SYSTEM MASTER PLAN AND EXPRESSING CITY'S INTENT TO BE AN INTEGRAL LINK IN THE SANTA ANA RIVER TRAILS SYSTEM. The city is a member of the Santa Ana River Corridor Coordinating Council and provided $6,000 through the Inter Agency Funding Agreement to complete the Master Plan. The Master Plan has been accepted by the Coordinating Council. The County Regional Parks Department presented the Master Plan to the Board of Supervisors and it was approved at their December 10, 1990 meeting. Because the city is a participating agency in the planning efforts and is itself planning to be an integral link in the Santa Ana Trail System, it is appropriate that the City adopt and support the implementation of the Master Plan and show its intent to become part of the Trails System. To that end, a resolution has been prepared for adoption by the Mayor and Common Council. The Trail System will be a valuable recreation resource for City and County residents for many years to come for hiking, biking and riding horses. Recommend adoption of the resolution.
