There was considerable concern that a permit could be acciden- tally issued in violation of the conditions of the moratorium. In response to this concern, the City Attorney's office proposed a motion directing that no permits be issued, unless the project had been approved by the Planning Commission or the City Attorney's office. This motion has required that applicants for permits on minor projects, such as widening a driveway approach, be advised that they will have to wait 2 or 3 days, until approval could be secured from the City Attorney's office. Since the moratorium has been lifted, there doesn't seem to be any reason for this requirement and resulting delays. Therefore, we recommend that this motion be rescinded. I 4-03-89 75-0264
