Q' o o o CIT~ OF SAN BIER NARDI NO - REQUIEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT City practice has been that when individuals sought business licenses for business which were conducted primarily outside the home but which used the home address as the business address, to not require home occupancy permits. Under the actual reading of the applicable ordinances, however, such permit should be required. The fee for such permits is in the area of $1,500, which seems a heavy exaction on those who are not actually conductin~ business but or in fact only using the home as an address. ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ADDING SECTION 19.50.070 TO TaE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO HOME OCCUPATION PERMITS. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 19.50.070 is hereby added to the San Bernardino Municipal Code to read as follows: "No conditional use permit for home occupations under this Chapter nor Certificate of occupancy under Chapter 19.70 of this Code shall be required for a business using the owner(s) or any partners home as its business address provided, 1) that there is no signage at the home address, 2) there are no building materials stored at the home address, 3) that no manufacturing takes place at the home address, and 4) that in the course of doing business, no employees or customers appear at the home address to transact business."
