RESOLUTION OF THE

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CLARIFYING
OF MARSHALL W. JULIAN AS CITY
WHEREAS, The Mayor of San Bernardino has appointed
Marshall W. Julian as city Administrator, effective JUne 8,
1989: and
WHEREAS, Mr. Julian is a former employee of the City,
havinq. retired on the basis of years of service in July of
1982 and is presently receivinq retirement payments from
the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS)

and, therefore, is not eliqib1e to be compensated by the
City and also continue to receive payments from PERS: .and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the city and Mr. Julian
for him to return to full-time employment with the City for
~r"9.et ~one-year period and discontinue his statUS as a
retir$d employee: and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that Mr. JUlian unde;qo a
physical examination and that certain documentation between
the city and PERS be proc'ssed before he may be aqain
compensated as a City employee rather than as a retired
employee, thus avoidinq duplicate payments:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN. BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
