AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH COUNTY OF STAFF REPORT
SAN BERNARDINO FOR SENIOR NUTRITION
PROGRAM TO INCLUDE AN ADDITIONAL ONE
TIME GRANT OF $15.933.00
Amendment Number 2 to Resolution 88-318 (County Agreement Number 88-763) will provide
a one time grant for the Senior Nutrition Program in the amount of $15.933. These funds
will be allocated towards kitchen equipment for the operation of a nutrition program at
the New Perris Hill Senior Center ($11.433.00). the purchase and installation of a
Commercial Range at Nicholson Center. ($2.500.00) and purchase of tables and chairs at
Lytle Creek Center.
The Senior Nutrition Program 1988-89 contract represents a continuance of an existing
program that has been ongoing since 1977. Under the amendment. the contract will be
modified as follows.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO ACTING AS THE AREA
AGENCY O~ AGING APPROVING A REVISED BUDGET FOR THE SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM
TO INCLUDE AN ADDITIONAL ONE-TIME GRANT SUM OF $15,933.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF
EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO IMPROVE THE MEAL SERVICE FOR THE FOR THE BUDGET YEAR
1988-89.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized
and directed to execute an amendment to the contract with the County of San
Bernardino acting as the Area Agency on Aging approving a revised budget for
the Senior Nutrition Program in the amount of $ 15,933.00 for the purchase
of equipment necessary to improve the meal service for the budget year
1988-1989, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length.

AGING AND THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FOR FY 1988/89
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Amendment Number 2 to County Agreement Number 88-763 between Office
on Aging and the City of San Bernardino for the administration of a senior
nutrition program increasing the agreement amount by $15,933 from $191,333
to $207,266 for the period of July 1, 1988 thru June 30, 1989.
BACKGROUND:
On July 18, 1988 the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement Number 88-763
with the City of San Bernardino to provide nutrition services for seniors
in FY 1988/89. On February 27, 1989 the Board approved an Amendment No.1
awarding additional funds of $21,853 for nutrition services.
Unallocated Office on Aging funds in the amount of $15,933 have recently
become available and the Office on Aging wishes to allocate this amount
to the City of San Bernardino.
This action will allow the contractor to purchase food production equipment
and meet the increased cost of vehicle operation, which would enhance the
contractor's meal delivery system.
REVIEW BY ADVISORY BOARD/OTHER DEPARTMENTS:
The Senior Affairs Commission approved this amendment on April II, 1989.
This contract has been reviewed and approved by Contract Compliance, Risk
Management and Deputy County Counsel W. Andrew Hartzell.
FINANCIAL DATA:
Adequate appropriations and revenue will be included in the Department' s
FY 1988/89 budget by separate Board action to meet the cost of this contract.
There is no local cost to the County.

AMENDMENT NO. 2
WHEREAS, the County and the City of San Bernardino
entered into a contract on July 18, 1988 designated in County
records as Contract No. 88-763; and
WHEREAS, the parties now desire to amend said Contract
to provide for an increase in funds for services provided
thereunder:
NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed that Contract
No. 88-763 is amended as follows:
1) The maximum amount of CDA funds awarded under
the contract, as specified in Paragraph 5 thereof, is hereby
increased to $207,266:
2) The matching share contributed by the Contractor
as specified in Paragraph 6 is increased to $16,691 of which
-0- shall be in cash and $16,691 shall be in kind:
3) Exhibits "A-I", "B" and "B-1" are hereby deleted
from the contract and new exhibits so designated and marked
"REVISED" are hereby added. to the contract and incorporated
therein by reference:
