Synopsis of Previous Council action:
None.
Recommended motion:
1) That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City
Clerk be authorized to proceed with the proposed vacation of
a portion of Esperanza Street, West of "R" Street.
2) That Plan No. 7489, showing the proposed vacation of a portion
of Esperanza Street, West of "R" Street, be approved.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received by this office to vacate a
portion of Esperanza Street, west of "H" Street, from an ad-
]oJ.nl.ng property owner. This request represents 50% of those
owners who adjoin the street. The petitioner has deposited the
required $200.00, which represents one-half of the total fee of
$400.00. The remaining $200.00 will be due after the
investigative proceedings.
This portion of Esperanza Street terminates at the 215
Freeway. It doesn't appear to serve any general public use,
but it still must be maintained by the City. Vacating this
proposed area would release the Ci ty from maintenance
liability.
If Authorization to Proceed is granted, all concerned
City Departments and utility companies wi~l be notified for any
imput and location of existing easements. Adjoining property
owners will be advised of the proposed vacation as a matter of
course in our normal procedure.
