F-89-16
The proposed purchase is for two (2) fire pumpers to be utilized in daily
operations by the City Fire Department.
At the request of the department, appropri ate speci fi cati ons were prepared,
published and furnished .to area suppliers. Bids were publicly opened and
declared on November 23, 1988. The following is a summary of Bids received.

Eighteen (18) suppliers of this commodity were solicited. There were six (6)
responses, two (2) no bid, one (1) no bid, bond furnished and three (3) valid
bids. A base bid plus options were offered by all per specification.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Fire Chief who included in
the purchase price certain other options offered by the manufacturer for a
total bid of $353,630.84. Seagrave Fire Apparatus meets specifications and
requirements. It is therefore recommended that the Bid be accepted for
contract. The equipment funding is a Lease Purchase transaction. The delivery

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SEAGRAVE
FIRE APPARATUS FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF TWO (2) FIRE PUMPERS. TO BE
3 UTI LIZED BY THE CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
5 BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That Seagrave Fire Apparatus is the lowest and best
responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of two (2) fire pumpers. in

accordance with Bid Specification F-89-16 for the total amount of $353.630.84;
10
pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and
directed to issue a purchase order for said two (2) fire pumpers to said
lowest and best responsible bidder; such award shall only be effective upon
the issuance of a purchase order by the Purchasing Agent; and all other
quotations therefor are hereby rejec~d.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by
