F-89-15
The proposed purchase is for Category I: fifty-three (53) each three (3) cubic
yard refuse containers, and Category II: fifty-three (53) four (4) cubic yard
refuse containters, to be utilized in daily operations by the Public
Services/Refuse Department.
At the request of the department, appropri ate speci fi cati ons were prepared,
published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were publicly opened and
declared Con November 22, 1988. The fOllowing is a summary of Bids received.

Twelve (12) suppliers of this commodity were solicited. Four (4) responded,
one (1) w'ith no bid. Of these bids only three (3) bids were valid.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Director of Public Services
who concurs that the Bi d of Cubi c Contai ner Mfg. meets specHi cati ons and
requiremel1ts. It is therefore recommended that the Bi d be accepted for
contract. The equipment funding is in the 1988/89 budget.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT TO CUBIC
CONTAINER MANUFACTURING FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF 3 & 4 CUBIC YARD
BINS CONSISTING OF: CATEGORY I - FIFTY-THREE (53) THREE (3) CUBIC YARD BINS
AND CATEGORY II - FIFTY-THREE (53) FOUR (4) CUBIC YARD BINS, TO BE UTILIZED BY
THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-B9-15.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That Cubic Container Manufacturing is the lowest and best
responsible bidder for the furnishin9 and delivery of fifty-three (53) three
(3) cubic yard and fifty-three (53) four (4) cubic yard refuse containers in
accordance with Specification No. F-B9-15, consisting of fifty-three (53)
three (3) cubic yard refuse containers at a total cost of $15,224.78 and
fifty-three (53) four (4) cubic yard refuse containers at a total cost of
$17,752.88 for a total amount of $32,977.66; pursuant to this determination,

the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase
order for said Cubic Container Manufacturing to said lowest and best
responsible bidder; such award shall only be effective upon the issuance of an
agreement by the Purchasin9 Agent; and all other quotations therefor are

hereby rejected.
