STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division was requested by the owner
of the shopping complex, located on the Northeast corner of
Waterman Avenue and Ninth Street, to restrict parking along
the east side of Waterman Avenue, from Ninth Street to Olive
Street.
The owner expressed his concerns regarding large auto
carrying, trucks that frequently park along the east side of
Waterman Avenue and block the view of motorists leaving the
shopping center.
This matter has been reviewed by the Traffic Safety
Committee on 12-14-88. The Committee approved the request
to prohibit parking along the east side of Waterman Avenue,
between Ninth Street and Olive Street.
Since the businesses along this area provide suffi-
cient off-street parking for their patrons, the establish-
ment of a "No Parking" zone will not adversely affect the
parking demand.
We recommend that the no parking zone be approved.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION .NO. 3985 ENTITLED, IN PART, "A RESOLUTION.
PROHIBITING PARKING UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS
THEREOF. ." TO ESTABLISH A NO PARKING ANY TIME ZONE ON WATEP.MJI.N
AVENUE BETWEEN NINTH STREET AND OLIVE STREET, APPLICABLE TO THE
EAST SIDE ONLY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
6 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1 :
Resolution No. 3985 which prohibits
8 parking upon certain designated streets or portions thereof,
9 Section One, Subsection (38) WATEID-lAN lNENUE, is amended by
10 adding the following to read:
11 (38) WATERMAN AVENUE

(q) Between Ninth Street and Olive Street,
13 applicable to the east side only.
