POSITION JUSTIFICATIONS The following are justifications for classified appointments, promotions and other personnel actions to be reviewed by the Mayor and Common Council at the January 8, 2001 Council meeting. CLASSIFIED GENERAL FUND 1. Electrician II (McPherson, Jack) - Promotion DEVELOPMENT SERVICES Staff levels for street light maintenance are already significantly lower than other similar sized cities. It is, therefore, imperative that the Electrician II position be filled so that the City's network of streetlights can be adequately maintained. The incumbent meets all minimum qualifications for the position and has performed well for the past five and a half years in his current position as Electrician I. 11.- Refuse Ooerator II (Arellanez. Efrin: Sims, Reainald) - Promotions 12. PUBLIC SERVICES The department currently has thirty (30) Refuse Operator II positions, including six (6) vacancies. These employees are essential to the department and to refuse collection in the City. Employees in the class of Refuse Operator II operate side-loading refuse trucks servicing the City's residential neighborhoods. Both of these assignments are promotions from the class of Refuse Operator I. #8 1/8/01
