STAFF REPORT
Bids for the installation of a new lighting system for
Guadalupe Baseball Field were ope~ed at 2:00 p.m., Friday, 12-20-
91.
A total of 14 bids were received, ranging from $63,793.00
to $78,300.00. The low bid of $63,793.00 is 12.6% under the
Engineering Estimate of $73,000.00.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon
the actual low bid price:

An amount of $41,766 was allocated from Community
Development Block Grant Funds in the 1991/92 Budget.
Supplemental funds, in the amount of $50,224, were approved at
the Community Development Commission meeting of 12-16-91, for a
total available amount of $91,990.
We recommend that a contract be awarded to the low bidder.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
It is necessary that a contract be awarded at the Council meeting
of 1-6-92,in order for the new lighting system to be operational
prior to the start of the baseball season.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO KEN CURRAN ELECTRIC, INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF A NEW

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Ken Curran Electric, Inc. is the lowest
responsible bidder for: Installation of a

for Guadalupe Baseball Field, per Plan No.

new lighting system
8625. A contract is
awarded accordingly to said bidder for the total amount of
$63,793.00,
but
such award
shall be
effective only upon the
contract being fully executed by the parties.
All other bids,
therefore, are hereby rej ected.
The Mayor is hereby authorized

and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth
at length.
SECTION 2.
This contract and any amendment or modifica-
tions
thereto shall not take effect or become operative until

intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or
course of conduct of any party.
SECTION 3. This resolution is rescinded if the parties

passage of this resolution.
