Subiect:
Authorization to change the on-street parking time Limit from one-hour to two-hours on the north side of
Court Street between "E" Street and "D" Street.
Backlrround:
Councilwoman Estrada submitted a request (See attached memo) on behalf of Carlos O'Brien's Restaurant to
change the time limit for on street parking at the referenced segment of Court Street. The change would only
affect the north side. The south side is already posted with a 2-hour parking limitation.
The newly opened Carlos O'Brien's feels that the existing one-hour parking limitation is insufficient to meet
customer's demand and that a two-hour parking limitation would help attract more customers. Input was
received, relative to this request, from the other affected businesses in this block. The majority of these
businesses concur with the request. Changing the limit is not expected to adversely effect parking demand in
the area. Consequently, staff recommends that the request be approved. The original request asks that the
two-hour parking limitation be in effect from nine a.m. through five p.m. However, the other two-hour
zones in the downtown area are effective from nine a.m. through six p.m. For consistency, it is
recommended that the proposed two-hour zone also be effective from nine a.m. through six p.m.
Financial Imoact:
Funding for installation of the "Two Hour Parking" signs will come from the general fund's signing and
striping materials account. This action is considered routine; consequently, there will be no major impact to
the account.
Recommendation:
Adopt Resolution changing the time limit parking on the north side of Court Street between "E" Street and
"D" Street from one-hour to two-hours.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Resolution No. 8234, Section One, Subsection,
(6) COURT STREET, is amended to read as follows:
