F-93-16
The proposed purchase is for eleven (11) each, Mac Classic II 4/40
personal computers, five (5) each, Apple Laserwriter Pro-600
printers and Mac Software to be utilized for the Job Training
Partnership Act Program by S.B.E.T.A.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were
publicly opened and declared on March 30, 1993. The following is a
summary of bids received.

Twenty-five (25) suppliers of this commodity were solicited.
Eighteen (18) suppliers failed to respond. Four (4) responded with
No Bid. Three (3) valid bids were received.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Director of
Employment and Training Agency who concurs that the bid of
Computerland of Upland meets specifications and requirements. It is
therefore recommended that the bid be accepted for contract. The
equipment funding is in the S.B.E.T.A. grant accounts.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE
ORDER TO COMPUTERLAND OF UPLAND FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF
ELEVEN (11) EACH, MAC CLASSIC II 4/40 PERSONAL COMPUTERS, FIVE (5)
EACH, APPLE LASERWRITER PRO-600 PRINTERS AND MAC SOFTWARE, TO BE
UTILIZED BY THE JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT PROGRAM BY S.B.E.T.A.
IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-93-16.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO A FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That computer land of Upland is the lowest and
best responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of eleven
(11) each, Mac Classic II 4/40 personal computers, five (5) each,
Apple Laserwriter Pro-600 printers and Mac Software in accordance
with Bid Specification F-93-16 for the total amount of $19,859.93;
pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby
authorized and directed to issue a purchase order for said eleven
(11) each, Mac Classic II 4/40 personal computers, five (5) each,
Apple Laserwriter Pro-600 printers and Mac Software to said lowest
and best responsible bidder; such award shall only be effective
upon the issuance of a Purchase Order by the Purchasing Agent; and
all other quotations therefor are hereby rejected.
SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above
referenced purchase order is rescinded if it is not issued within
sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution.
