HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-Announcements CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S OFFICE INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: Rachel Clark, City Clerk Glenn Cline, Information Services Department FROM: Teri Baker, Administrative Analyst II SUBJECT: Public Works Forecast DATE: June 26, 2002 The following is a list of upcoming Public Works Projects to be reported at the July 1st Council Meeting and to post on the City's web-site: . Work is continuing on sidewalk repairs at various locations throughout the City. During the next month, the contractor will be making repairs in the Arden-Guthrie area, followed by the Miramonte and 26th Street areas. . Pothole repairs are being repaired throughout the City. The Department is committed to repair all potholes within 2 business days after reporting. To report potholes, please call 384-5045. PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION HAS THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION: 1. Hazardous Material Removal Phase IB at the Santa Fe Depot is 95% complete. The main reconstruction project is currently being bid and bid opening took place on June 27,2002. 2. The traffic signal installation at Wagonwheel Road and Kendall Avenue is complete. 3. The construction of new Restroom Facilities at Perris Hill Park and Kerwin Field is 50% completed. 4. The seismic retrofit of six bridges throughout the community, at a total cost of just over $1,000,000.00, is 55% complete. 5. ADA access ramps phase III is 60% complete. 6. Pavement Rehabilitation Projects: a. Baseline between California and Medical Center is 50% complete. b. Rialto Avenue between Waterman Avenue and Lena Road IS 15% complete. OTHER PROJECTS UNDERWAY: I. The bid opening for the TDA transit accessibility projects was on June 4, 2002. The construction cost is $23,442.00. It is anticipated a contractor will be awarded this project at this Council meeting. 2. The bid opening for traffic signal installation at Pacific Street and Perris Hill Rd was on June 4, 2002. The construction cost is $121,530.00. It is anticipated a contractor will be awarded this project at this Council meeting. 3. The bid opening for seismic retrofit offour railroad bridges throughout the community was on May 7, 2002. The construction cost is $934,341.00. It is anticipated this project will be awarded to a contractor at July 15, 2002 Council meeting. 4. The bid opening for the ADA access ramps project was on June 18,2002. The construction cost is $62,200.00. It is anticipated this project will be awarded to a contractor at July 15, 2002 City Council meeting. 5. The bid opening for seismic retrofit of City of San Bernardino 5-Level Parking Structure was on May 28, 2002. The construction cost is $1,146,000.00. It is anticipated this project will be awarded to a contractor at July IS, 2002 Council meeting 6. The bid opening for Laurelwood Drive Realignment between Tippecanoe Avenue and Orchard Drive is scheduled for July 9, 2002. - I have several Public Works Projects to report on. . Work is continuing on sidewalk repairs at various locations throughout the City. As has been reported in the past, we want our citizens to know that pothole repairs are being repaired throughout the City. Phase IB of the Hazardous Material Removal project at the Santa Fe Depot is 95% complete. The bid opening for the main reconstruction project took place late last week so we should have more news to report next month. . The traffic signal installation at Wagonwheel Road and Kendall Avenue is complete. . The construction of new restroom facilities at Perris Hill Park and Kerwin Field is 50% completed. . The seismic retrofit of six bridges throughout the community, at a total cost of just over one million dollars, is 55% complete. . Phase Three of the ADA access ramps project is 60% complete. And, we have a couple of pavement rehabilitation projects to report on: . The project on Baseline, between California and Medical Center, is 50% complete; and ~ . . Rialto A venue, between Waterman A venue and Lena Road, is 15% complete. We had several bid openings in June and we expect the following projects to be awarded this month: . The TDA transit accessibility project . Traffic signal installation at Pacific Street and Perris Hill Road - in fact, this project is on today's agenda . Seismic retrofit of four railroad bridges . The ADA access ramps project should be awarded at the July 15 Council meeting . The seismic retrofit project of the 5 level parking structure adjacent to City Hall should also be awarded at the July 15 Council meeting; and, finally . The bid opening for the Laurelwood Drive realignment, between Tippecanoe Avenue and Orchard Drive, is scheduled for July 9. That concludes my Public Works Forecast.
