SUBJECT
Resolution authorizing the Director of Finance or her designee to issue an annual
purchase order to Greenwoods Uniforms in the amount of $50,000 for replacement of
Class "B" uniforms for fire personnel.
BACKGROUND
A Request For Quote #F 07-44 was issued to solicit formal bids for Class "B" uniforms
for fire department personnel on May 15, 2007. Notices inviting bids from qualified
vendors for protective clothing for structural firefighting were distributed to the San
Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, the City's Web Site, and advertised in The Sun
Newspaper. Bid packages were requested by twenty (20) vendors and six (6) bid
responses were received.

The Fire Department is requesting that an annual purchase order be awarded to
Greenwoods Uniforms in the amount of $50,000 under RFQ #F07-44 for the replacement
of Class "B" uniforms on an as needed basis. The amount requested is to replace
uniforms that are worn out or damaged during the normal course of business, as well as
to furnish uniforms for new employees.
The annual purchase order is for one year with the option, at the City's discretion, of
renewing the contract annually for up to two years.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The total dollar amount of $50,000 is included in the Fire Department FY 2007-2008
budget for Class "B" uniforms. Funding is available in account number 001-202-5111
(Materials and Supplies).

BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE OR HER DESIGNEE

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That Greenwoods Uniforms is the lowest responsible bidder for the

replacement of Class "B" uniforms and safety boots, for a total amount not-to-exceed $50,000, in
8
9
accordance with Bid Specification #F 07-44, and, as such the Director of Finance or her designee is
10
authorized to issue an annual purchase order to Greenwoods Uniforms. The annual purchase order
11
is for one year with the option of two one-year extensions. All other bids are hereby rejected.

SECTION 2. Greenwoods Uniforms Annual Purchase Order shall incorporate by reference
13
this Resolution and Bid Specification F 07-44.

SECTION 3. The authorization to execute the above referenced Annual Purchase Order is
