The proposed purchase is for three (3) each, one ton flat bed dump
trucks to be utilized in daily operations by the Public
Services/Street Department.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifictions were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were
publicly opened and declared on February 4, 1992. The following is
a summary of bids received.

Seventeen (17) vendors of this commodity were solicited. Four (4)
bids were received; two (2) no bids, one valid bid and one invalid
bid (no bid bond received which was a material requirement of the
specifications).
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Director of
Public Services who concurs that the bid of Fairview Ford meets
specifications and requirements. It is therefore recommended that
the bid be accepted for contract. The equipment funding is in the
1991/92 budget.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE
ORDER TO FAIRVIEW FORD FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF THREE
(3) EACH, ONE TON FLAT BED TRUCKS, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC
SERVICES/STREET DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-
92-15.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNADINO A FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Fairview Ford is the lowest and best
responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of three (3)
each, one ton flat bed trucks in accordance with Bid Specification
F-92-15 for the total amount of $60,606.14; pursuant to this
determination, the Purchasing Agent is herebY authorized and
directed to issue a purchase order for said three (3) each, one
ton flat bed trucks to said lowest and best responsible bidder;
such award shall only be effective upon the iSEuance of a Purchase
Order by the Purchasing Agent; and all other quotations therefor
are hereby rejected.
SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above
referenced purchase order is rescinded if the parties to the
agreement fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage
of this resolution.
