Termination Of Memorandum Of Understandinl! Between The Community Development
Commission And The Convention And Visitors Bureau
BACKGROUND
On June 3, 1991, the San Bernardino Community Development Commission (the
"Commission") approved a Memorandum of Understanding (the "MOU") between itself and the
Board of Directors of the San Bernardino Convention and Visitor's Bureau (the "CVB"). The
purpose of the MOU was to spell out the parameters of the relationship between the two
organizations as well as to provide for the financial oversight and the ongoing monitoring of the
CVB by the Commission.
CURRENT ISSUE
Approval of the fiscal year 2000/200 I budgets for both the City and Redevelopment Agency
effectively transferred the responsibility for funding the CVB from the Agency to the City, and
with such transfer the oversight and monitoring responsibilities.
On October 2, 2000, the Mayor and Common Council approved a Memorandum of
Understanding between the City and the CVB. Consequently, there is a need to terminate the
MOU between the Commission and the CVB.
The Agency is in receipt of a letter from the CVB requesting that the MOU between the Agency
and the CVE be terminated.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.

That Community Development Commission approve the termination of the Memorandum of
Understanding between the Community Development Commission and the Board of Directors of
the Convention and Visitors Bureau
