Every previous year in either November or December similar action was taken.
Recommended Motion:
That the Mayor and Common Council and the Community Development Commission
approve the following dates for regular meetings of the Mayor and Common
Council/Community Development Commission for the year 2003: January 6 and 21;
February 3 and 18; March 3 and 17; April 7 and 21; May 5 and 19; June 2 and 16; July
7 and 21; August 4 and 18; September 2 and 15; October 6 and 20; November 3 and
17; December 1 and 15.

regular meeting dates for 2003

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This is a request to have the Mayor and Common Council/Community Development
Commission approve the following Council/Commission regular meeting dates for
2003: January 6 and 21; February 3 and 18; March 3 and 17; April 7 and 21; May 5
and 19; June 2 and 16; July 7 and 21; August 4 and 18; September 2 and 15; October 6
and 20; November 3 and 17; December 1 and 15.
Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month; however, the
above dates reflect changes made as a result of holidays. For example, in January and
February the second meeting of the month will take place on the Tuesday following the
third Monday because both meetings fall on a holiday - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
and Presidents Day. In September, the first meeting will take place on the first
Tuesday of the month due to the Labor Day holiday.
With the Mayor and Common Council's approval of a year-long schedule of regular
meeting dates, we can provide departments with as much notice as possible of deadlines
for submitting agenda items for the entire calendar year.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the Mayor and Common Council and the Community Development Commission
approve the following dates for regular meetings of the Mayor and Common
Council/Community Development Commission for the year 2003: January 6 and 21;
February 3 and 18; March 3 and 17; April 7 and 21; May 5 and 19; June 2 and 16;
July 7 and 21; August 4 and 18; September 2 and 15; October 6 and 20; November 3
and 17; December 1 and 15.
