10-21-85 Resolution No. 85-428 adopted awarding a contract to J & R
Landscaping for the low bid price of $3,600 (annual basis).

Bids for the maintenance of this landscaping were opened at 2:00 p.m. '
on Tuesday, 5-20-86.
A total of 4 bids were received, ranging from $2,856.00 to $3,750.00.
The low bid of $2,856.00 is 10.8% under the Engineer's Estimate of $3,200.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total cost of the landscape
maintenance, based upon the actual low bid price:

Funding for the costs incurred on this project will be provided pur-
suant to Resolution No. 85-235 adopted July 1, 1985, which orders the
maintenance of the landscaping and lighting. Costs for maintenance and
electrical energy will be pre-funded by the City, as set forth in Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 85-197 and the amount will be reimbursed through
assessments levied in all parcels within the district for the following

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT TO
MENTONE TURF AND SUPPLY, FOR ~1AINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPING IN PORTIONS OF
AIRPORT DRIVE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Mentone Turf and Supply is the lowest responsible
bidder for construction of a public project, to wit: Maintenance of
landscaping in portions of Airport Drive, in accordance with Plan No. 6738
(1986-87), for the total amount of $2,856.00, a contract is awarded to said
bidder accordingly, but such award shall be effective only upon the contract
being fully executed by the parties; all other bids therefor are hereby
rejected; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said
contract on behalf of the City. A copy of the contract is attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though
set forth at length.
SECTION 2. The contract authorized by this resolution shall not
take effect until fully signed and executed by both parties. Neither party
shall be obligated hereunder unless and until the contract is fully executed
and no oral agreement thereto shall be implied or authorized.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by
the Mayor and COllll1On Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
