STAFF REPORT
BID SPEC: F-86-22
The proposed contract action is for the annual Mixed-In-Transit Concrete require-
ments for the City. The specifications were rewritten by the Purchasing Agent for
this years requirements to bring them up to current industry standards.
A very clean understandable bid information resulted - P.U.C. haul rate schedules.
dumping time. and excess charge rates.were all clear with no conflicts this time
around. A clause controlling any additives used in the classes of concrete without
prior approval of the Purchasing Agent was included this time. A quality control
assurance that was felt necessary in light of industry trends.
Specifications were prepared. published and furnished to area suppliers. The fol-
lowing is a summary of bids received.

One bidder withdrew his bid the day prior to opening (CalMat). One bidder was received
one day late (Robertsons).
The Director of Public Services has reviewed specifications as bid and concurs that the
bid of Rancho Ready Mix meets specifications and requirements. It is therefore recom-
mended that the bid be accepted for contract. Funding will be from the Public Servicesl
Street Maintenance 1986/87 Budget.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO RANCHO REAUY
MIX FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF MIXED IN TRANSIT CONCRETE IN ACCORDAIJCE
WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-86-22.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR-
DINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Rancho Ready Mix is the lowest and best bidder for the
furnishing and delivery of mixed in transit concrete on an as required basis
for a one-year period. for a per cubic yard price of $42.81 including tax for
Class-520-C-2500. $44.81 including tax for Class-560-C-3250. $41.76 including
tax for Class-500-C-2500. $25.65 including tax for Class-l00-E-I00. all in
accordance with Specification No. F-86-22; that all other bids therefor are
hereby rejected; that the bid of Rancho Ready Mix therefor is hereby accepted;
and that the Purchasing Agent of the City of San Bernardino is hereby author-
ized to issue purchase orders therefor.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the
Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
