STAFF REPORT
Bids for this project were opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 5-27-86.
A total of two bids were received, in the amounts of $34,212 and $37,934.
The low bid of $34,212 is 0.6% over the Engineer's Estate of $34,000.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the
actual low bid price:

An amount of $38,000 has been allocated, under Account No. 240-360-57150,
to finance the costs incurred for this project. Supplemental funds in the amount
of $3,200 may be needed to fully finance the total actual project cost. ROA
staff has indicated that this amount, if needed, could be obtained from the
COBG Contingency Fund Account.
We recommend that a contract be awarded to the low bidder.

SECTION 1. Dayid-R1chards Construction 1s the lowest
Baseba" Field. 1n accordance with Phn No. 6892. for the total
amount of $34.212.00. a contract 15 awarded to said bidder accord-
10 ingly. but such award shall be effective only upon the contract
11 being fully executed by the partiesi all other bids therefor are

hereby rejected; and the Mayor 1s hereby author1zed and directed to
execute sa1d contract on behalf of the C1ty; a copy of the contract
14 15 attached hereto. marked Exh1bit "A" and incorporated herein by

reference as fully as though set forth at length.
SECTION 2.
The contract authorized by this resolution sha"
17 not take effect until fully signed and executed by both parties.
18 Neither party shall be obligated hereunder unless and until the

contrAct is fully executed and no oral agreement thereto shall be
implied or authorized.
