Schuma Amendment to the S.B.M.C., Chapter From: Planning Director Subject: 18.64 - Lot Line Adjustments Dept: Planning Mayor and Council Meeting of Apr il 21, 1986, 2:00 p.m. I Date: April 9, 1986 Synopsis of Previous Council action: Previous Planning Commission action: At the meeting of the Planning Commission on April 8, 1986, the following recommendation was made: The proposed amendment to the San Bernardino Municipal Code, Section 18.64 - Lot Line Adjustments, to remove the lot line adjustment process from the public hearing process and place it on the agenda of the Development Review Committee for administrative review, was unanimously recommended for approval. The Negative Declaration for environmental review was also recommended for approval. Recommenr:led motion: To approve the responses to comments and to adopt the Negative Declaration for environmental review which has been reviewed and considered. To approve, modify or reject the findings and the recommendation of the Planning Commission and to direct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary amendments to the zoning Ordinance. ~~ Ignature Frank A. From Planning Department Date April 8, 1986 Approved item No.7, Ward C 1TY WlDE Date The attached Ordinance Amendment is a proposal by the Planning Staff to remove the lot line adjustment process from the public hearings process and place it on the agenda of the Development Review Committee for administrative review. By doing so, it will accomplish two objectives, being: 1.) Greatly reduce staff time in preparing public hearing notice and preparation of staff reports for the Planning Commission meeting, and 2.) Reduce the timing of the process from 30 days for the Commission meetIng process to 10 days through the Development Review Committee process. The amendment will be advantageous to both the staff and the applicant by reducing costs and time. RECU~lMENDATlOI!. Staff recommends approval to the proposed Ordinance Amendment as it stands. ' , , l ORDINANCE NO. 2 4 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: :) 6 SECTION 1. Chapter 18.64 is hereby added to the San i Bernardino Municipal Code to read as follows: 8 .Chapter 18.64 !l LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT 10 18.64.010 Necessity for lot line adjustment. 11 Following the recordation of a final map or a parcel map, it 12 may become necessary to adjust the alignment of existing parcel 13 lines between parcels or to eliminate existing parcel lines to 14 provide for more flexible siting of proposed projects. 15 18.64.020 Application. lr., To apply for a lot line adjustment, an applicant shall I 1il obtain the required application form(s) from the Planning 18[ Department.
