STAFF REPORT
The amount of records stored by the fire department has become excessive.
Copies of fire reports are requested by citizens for insurance and income
tax purposes, but there have not been requests for reports more than seven
years old.

DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

BE IT.RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
4 OF SAN BER~ARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
5 SECTION 1. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
6 Bernardino do hereby approve the destruction by the Fire
i Department of all fire reports, rescue reports and resuscitator
8 reports dated prior January 1, 1979. 1

!l SECTION 2. It is hereby found and determined that the I

10 records are no longer needed, and they may be destroyed pursuant I
,
11 to Government Code Section 34090, upon written consent of the
12 City Attorney.
