BID SPEC: F-86-10
The proposed purchase is for One New One Ton Cab And Chassis Truck. to be utilized
in daily operations by the Public Works/Traffic Engineering Department. At the re-
quest of the department and in co-ordination with the Equipment Superintendent. approp-
riate specifications were prepared. published and furnished to area suppliers. The
following is a summary of bids received.

Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Equipment Superintendent and Dir-
ector of Public Works who concur. that the bid of Crest Chevrolet does not meet the
specifications in two separate areas. First. the transmission requirements requiring
auxiliary cooler was taken exception to and substituted. Secondly. the heavy duty
rear towing bumper requi rement was taken exception to and none offered.
It is therefore recommended that the bid of Crest Chevrolet be rejected and the bid
of Tom Bell Chevrolet. the next bidder in line according to price and meeting the
specifications with no exceptions. be accepted for contract. The amount of $17.200.00
was included in the 1985/86 Budget for this equipment.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO TOM BELL
CHEVROLET FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF ONE NEW ONE TON CAB & CHASSIS
3 TRUCK IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-86-1O.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BER-
NARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

6 SECTION I. The bid of Crest Chevrolet. for one new one ton cab and
7 chassis truck at $11.360.02 is hereby rejected as not meeting specifications
8 in 2 separate areas.

SECTIUN 2. Tom Bell Chevrolet is the lowest and best bidder for the
10 furnishing and delivery of one new one ton cab and chassis truck in accord-
11 ance with Bid Specification F-86-10 for the total amount of $11.650.46; pur-
12 suant to this determination. the Purchasing AGent is hereby authorized and
13 directed to issue a purchase order for said one new one ton cab and chassis
14 truck to said lowest and best bidder; such award shall only be effective upon
15 the issuance of a purchase order by the Purchasing Agent; and all other bids
16 therefor are hereby rejected.
17 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the

Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
