RTD SPEC: F-86-6
The proposed purchase is for One New Diesel Powered 1986 Patch Truck. to be utilized
in daily operations by the Public Services/Street Department. At the request of the
department and in co-ordination with the Equipment Superintendent. appropriate spec-
ifications were prepared. published and furnished to area suppliers. The following
is a summary of bids received.

Out of 10 bidders the response was as follows:
Nixon-Egli responded with a bid fof $65.720.00.
Four others responded with their reasons for NO-BID which are:
1. Dieterich Truck - "Navistar is between model changes at this time. we do not have
a medium duty tilt ~ab in our product line."
2. Cochran-Nichols - "The required chassis is a class 6 or 7. At this time we do not
have this class of unit in our contracts with manufactures."
3. Haaker Equipment - "We do not have this type of product - Thank You."
4. Carmenita Truck - "Could not obtain price for patch truck from manufacturer."
The bid of Nixon-Egli Equipment Co. was pursued to ascertain if the price offered was
fair and reasonable. The Riverside City Bid #3885 - Nov. 20. 1985 reflected prices of
$72.000.00 Dieterich International Truck. $65.557.00 De Anza Chevrolet. $84.794.20
Carmenita Truck.
In view of the comparable bid it is felt the bid of Nixon-Egli Equipment Co. is fair
and reasonable. Specification as bid have been reviewed with the Director of Public
Services and Equipment Superintendent who concur that the bid of Nixion-Egli Equipment
Co. meets specifications and requirements. It is therefore recommended that the bid
be accepted for contract. The amount of $72.000.00 was included in the 1985/86 Budget
for this requirement.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO THE NIXON-
EGLI EQUIPMENT CO. FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF ONE NEW 1986 OIESFl
POWERED PATCH TRUCK TO BE UrILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES/STREET OErAR1MLNI
IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION F-86-6.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 1-1AYOR AND COt1NOfl COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BER-
NARDIND AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Nixon-Egli Equipment Co. is the sole bidder for the
furnishing and delivery of one new 1986 diesel powered patch truck in accord-
ance with Specification No. F-86-6, at a total cost of $65,72D.OD; that such
bid is satisfactory and in accordance with Specification No. F-86-6; pursuant
to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed
to issue a purchase order for said one new 1986 diesel powered patch truck
to slid lowest and oest bidder; and such award shall only be effective upon
the issuance of a purchase order by the Purchasing Agent.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the
Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
meeting thereof, held on the
