STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Dhision has received a request from 'Lt. Mier,
of the Police Department, to Install diagonal parking on the
north side of Marshall Boulnard, east of Mountain Avenue, by
the Del Rosa Elementary School baseball field.
The public and parents have been parking diagonally at this
location for the. past fhe to ten years for baseball games and
other sport events. Marshall Boulevard, at this location, is
64 fe4lt wide, curb to curb, serving two-way traffic. with one
hneeach direction. Because Marshall Boulevard stops. at
Harrison Street, the street actually functions lIS a residential
.collector street acommodating primarily local traffic. The
present practice of diagonal parking has not resulted any
adverse Impacts In the area, however, the official designation
and .actual painting of diagonal parking spaces In the area will
regulate and enhence orderly traffic movements.
It IS reco",mended that diagonal parking be established on the'
north side of Marshall Boulevard In front of Del Rosa
Elementary School, and the Traffic Engineer be directed to
develop a striping plan for the authorized diagonal parking.
INSTRUCTIONS TO CITY ATTORNEY:

Amend Section Three of Article IV,' Ordinance No. 1652 to
include: (4) North side of Marshall Boulevard along the
frontage of Del Rosa Elementary School.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ANGLE PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MARSHALL
4 BOULEVARD hLONG THE FRONTAGE OF DEL ROSA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
6 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION I, Resolution No, 9998, which determines angle
8 parking upon certain designated streets or portions thereof,
9 Section 1 is hereby amended by adding Subsection (4) to read:
10 "(4) NORTH SIDE OF MARSHALL BOULEVARD
11 Along the frontage of Del Rosa Elementary School,"
12 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
13 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
