Recommended motion:
Adopt resolution authorizing the designation of Hospitality Lane, Palm Avenue,
Belmont Street and Irvington Street as through highways and the installation of
stop signs for Eastbound Vanderbilt Way at Carnegie Drive and for Westbound Brier
Street at Carnegie Drive.

Rapid growth in the Vanderbilt area, as well as accelerated establishments in the
Tri-City Development area, have propelled the need for the designation of through
highways and the installation of additional traffic control devices.
Based on recent traffic counts and traffic patterns observed in the field, Irvington
and Belmont Streets need to be designated as collector streets. Palm Avenue should
be classified as a minor arterial between Cajon Boulevard and Ohio Avenue. Hospitality
Lane between "E" Street and Tippecanoe Avenue, after the completion of San Timoteo
Creek bridge, should be also designated as a minor arterial street. Stop signs
are required to be installed for all local streets intersecting collector and
arterial streets. In addition, stop signs are also warranted for Eastbound Vanderbilt
Way at Carnegie Drive and Westbound Brier Street at Carnegie Drive, in the Tri-
City area, based on projected future traffic.
These items were presented to the Mayor's Traffic Safety Committee for their
review and have been subsequently approved to recommend for approval.

A. Add, the following streets to Section One, Resolution No. 655:
