STAFF REPORT
Bids for the installation of the Mill Street Storm Drain
were opened at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, 2-19-91.
A total of
to $392,758. The
Engineer's Estimate
9 bids were received, ranging from $257,000
low bid of $257,000 is 16.3% under the
of $307,050.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based
upon the actual low bid price:

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO CORNISH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF
STORM DRAIN IN MILL STREET, FROM "E" STREET TO WARM CREEK
CHANNEL, AND MODIFICATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT MILL STREET, "E"
STREET AND INLAND CENTER DRIVE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Cornish Construction Company is the lowest
responsible bidder for:
Installation of Storm Drain in Mill
Street, and modification of Traffic Signals at Mill Street, "E"
Street and Inland Center Drive, in accordance with Plan No. 8261,
and a contract is awarded to said bidder accordingly for the
total amount of $257,000.00, but such award shall be effective
only upon the contract being fully executed by the parties, all
other bids therefore are hereby rejected, and the Mayor is hereby
authorized and directed to execute said contract on behalf of the
City, a copy of the contract is attached hereto, marked Exhibit
"A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set
forth at length.
SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or modifica-
tions thereto shall not take effect or become operative until
fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be
obligated hereunder until the time of such full, execution. No
oral agreements,
amendments, modifications or waivers are
intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or
course of conduct of any party.
SECTION 3.
This resolution is rescinded if the parties
to the contract fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the
passage of this resolution.
