06-02-86 -- Resolution No. 86-200 adopted awarding a contract for
Assessment District No. 952 to J & R Landscape

Road for Kendall Drive, be approved; to authorize Mentone Turf
Supply to install landscaping improvements, at an increase in

STAFF REPORT
Sections of the area between Kendall Drive and the
adjoining frontage road, east of Little Mountain Drive, have
been landscaped by recent developers. The owners of the three
parcels with older developments were contacted to determine if
they would be willing to maintain landscaping if it was
installed by the City. An affirmative answer was received from
the owners of the two parcels in the middle of the block.
Mentone Turf & Supply has a contract with the City to
maintain landscaping in the State College area. They have pro-
vided a price quote of $6,170 to install landscaping, including
separate water and electrical services. The landscaping will be
comparable with the existing materials.
We have reviewed the quoted price of $6,170, and feel
that it is fair and reasonable for the work to be done.
Therefore, we recommend that Change Order No. 3 be approved.
Funds to finance the cost of the extra work will be
provided from RDA' s fund for the State College Redevelopment
Project.

You are hereby authorized and directed to perform the fo10wing "extra
work" at a Lump Sum price of $6,170.00:

Installation of landscaping improvements on the Western corner
of Frontage Road. at the corner of Kendall and Little Mountain
Drive, located in the median strip in front of 1397 and 1393
Kendall Drive. Work to be performed shall include (1)
installation of 2 sleeved 1" water service lines from service
meters to median strip. (2) 2 1" electric valves with control
wiring to be located at existing water service. and (3) Removal
of rocks and debris, install topsoil, soil amendments and
fiscue sod.
