57334, to f1nance the cost for mod1f1cat10n of the traff1c s1gnals at
Base11ne Street and Muscott, and $22,000 for f1nanc1ng the costs for
mod1f1cat10n of traff1c s1gnals at S1xth Street and "0" Street. A total
amount of $73,000 has been allocated for the mod1f1cat10ns to be done
under th1s contract. Federal-a1d Safety Funds compr1sed 90J ($65,700)
of this total.
The supplements to the local Agency - State Agreement that the des1g-
nated amount of federal funds ($65,700) 1s not to be exceeded, and any
1ncreases w111 be der1ved from local agency funds. Traff1c s1gnal
projects generally requ1re 11ttle, 1f any, of the (15J)+ 1ncluded for
cont1ngenc1es. Therefore, we recommend that a contract be awarded for
the low b1d.

2 RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO J\NARDING A CON1'HhCT
TO SIGNAL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR MODIFICATION OF TRAFFIC
3 ,SIGNALS AT BASELINE STREET AND MUSCOTT STREET, AND AT SIXTH
STREET AND "D" STREET.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
5 OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. Signal Construction Company is the lowest
7 responsible bidder for construction of a public project, to wit:
8 modification of traffic signals at Baseline Street and Muscott
9 Street, and at Sixth Street and "D" Street, in accordance with
10 Plan No. 6657 for the total amount of $61,903.00, a contract is
11 awarded to said bidder accordingly, but such award shall be
12 effective only upon the contract being fully executed by the
13 parties1 all other bids therefor are hereby rejected1 and the
14 Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract
15 on behalf of the CitY1 a copy of the contract is attached hereto,
16 marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully
17 as though set forth at length.
18 SECTION 2. The contract authorized by this resolution"shall
19 not take effect until fully signed and executed by both parties.
20 Neither party shall be obligated hereunder unless and until the
21 contract is fully executed and no oral agreement thereto shall be
22 implied or authorized.
23 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
24 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
25 Bernardino at a
