Recommended motion:
.
1. That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City Clerk are,
authorized to proceed with the proposed vacation of a portion of 5th Street
between Dallas Avenue and Meridian Avenue.
2.
That Plan No. 7966, showing the proposed va"ation of a portion of 5th Street,
between Dallas Avenue and Meridian Avenue,~approved.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received from Mr. Hsu Hao-Shih, on November I, 1989, to vacate a
portion of 5th Street, between Dallas Avenue and Meridian Avenue. The petitioner
has deposited the required $200.00, which represents one-half of the total
fee of $400.00. The remaining $200.00 will be due after the investigative
proceedings.
Mr. Hsu owns the parcels of land to the North and South of the proposed vacation.
He plans to do a lot line adjustment when the vacation proceedings are complete,
merging the property into one parcel of land.
5th Street, to the West was previously vacated, and there is no provision for 5th
Street to be extended to the East to Dallas Avenue. It is apparent that the City
has no need or use for thi s sma 11 secti on of 5th Street. Staff, therefor,
requests authorization to proceed with the above vacation.
