Recommended motion: That the Planning Division be directed to initiate a Development Code Amendment to expand the uses permitted through a Temporary Use Permit. Mayor and Common Council Meeting February 3, 1992 REOUEST That a Development Code Amendment be initiated to include certain City sponsored uses as permitted uses through a Temporary Use Permit. BACKGROUND The Development Code permits certain short-term activities through a Temporary Use Permit. Temporary uses not occupying a structure are permitted for a fixed period of time not exceeding 90 days. The Development Code permits non temporary outdoor uses through a Conditional Use Permit in the commercial land use designations. Main Street Inc. has indicated that they establishment of a farmers market on a once a downtown area. As such, they do not constitute defined in the Development Code. are pursuing the week basis in the a temporary use as Staff concurs that certain uses such as farmers markets be permitted in the downtown area through the Temporary Use Permit process. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that they Development Code be amended to permit certain City-sponsored uses/activities in the downtown area through a Temporary Use Permit. ..0264
