DescriPtion) Finance: Council Notes: Res 97- c9/a 7/11 q7 Agenda Item No. S I 75-0262 .CI~ 'OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT From: Mayor Tom Minor and the City of San Bernardino Human Relations Commission Mayor Tom Minor and the City of San Bernardino Human Relations Commission will bring the Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary Baseball Exhibit entitled "Stealing Home: How Jackie Robinson Changed America" to San Bernardino. This exhibit was previewed at the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles and is scheduled to begin a national tour over the next year. San Bernardino is the first stop on the national tour. This exhibit will be physically located at the San Bernardino Baseball Stadium from Saturday, July 19 through Friday, August 1, 1997. The cost to bring this exhibit to San Bernardino is approximately $15,000 which was raised in the community of San Bernardino from the Educational, Private and Public sectors. J. SUT-UP AND TEAR-DOWN The Center will be re~ponsible for the set-up, tcar-dowll and re-packaging of the Exhihit. City s\wl\ provide two (2) assistants, at the City's expense, to help set-up. The City docs not have the right to display or IL~e any individuul element for use in any other form (Le., advertising, reprints, posters, etc.), without the prior written approval of the Center or the Jackie Rohinson Foundation. It should be noted that the likeness of Jackie Robinson is the sole property of Mrs. Rachel Robinson and the Jackie Robinson Foundation and may nlll he used or replicated without their prior written consent.
