Resolution submitting to the voters a ballot measure related to the Service
Users Tax (Utility Tax)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On June 5, 1995, the utility users tax was increase 0.5%; however, it sunsets on June
30, 1998. If the 0.5% increase is to continue beyond June 30, 1998, a measure must
be placed on the November 4, 1997 ballot giving the voters the opportunity to vote on
this measure.
This resolution will complete the process of submitting to the voters the proposed
ordinance relating to the Service Users Tax (Utility Tax).
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That said resolution be adopted.
